Mike Shost graduated from the University of North Texas in 1979 with a BBA in Accounting.  He was honorably discharged from the U.S. Army in 1976 where he was an accounting/finance specialist.  He attended the University of North Texas completing his degree.  After college, he worked for the Dallas office of Arthur Andersen for three years.  They provided auditing, general business and accounting experience through audit work for a variety of profit and not-for-profit organizations.  In 1982 he went to work in the internal audit department of the Zale Corporation, gaining experience in evaluating internal accounting controls, corporate operation procedures and structure, and property and sales tax laws.  In January 1984, Mike left Zales to pursue his CPA practice full-time as a partner with Shost & Dunn, CPA’s.  In October 1986, Mike formed his own practice, Shost & Company, P.C. that was incorporated in 1987.  He is a member of:
